Information about Anchorage Arts and Crafts Festivals
By admin On October 14th, 2011Anchorage, Alaska is a vibrant and alive city for arts and crafts, with a long history of artisans painting, working in ivory, antler, and bone, scrimshaw, pottery, glass, photography, woodworking, baskets and more. Much of the present day work can be seen in the arts and crafts festivals which take place here.
The Anchorage Market & Festival is open every Saturday and Sunday from May to September. Taking place at the Arts & Crafts Emporium, local artist vendors show their arts and crafts and speak with potential customers from 10-6 pm.
The Anchorage Christmas Village at the Dena’ina Civic & Convention Center features over 200 vendors and has benefited from over 600,000 attendees in a season. The most recent of the Christmas shows, admission is free with lots of fun happening; a wide variety of gifts for the season are sold here. The date is Saturday, December 17, 2011.
The Holiday Food and Gift Festival displays a diverse selection of Anchorage and imported arts and crafts, as well as furs, and holiday gift and food items. In 2011, the dates are November 4th, 5th, and 6th.
